In Alien & Predator's shared lore, Predators are known for killing Xenomorphs as a coming-of-age ritual, but one clan trains them instead. 'Aliens vs Predator: Three World War' introduces a clan of Predators called 'Killers' who hunt without honor.
The seemingly endless war between Xenomorphs and Predators within the ever-expanding continuity of Aliens vs Predator has raged for thousands of years as killing Xenomorphs is something of an initiation ritual for young Yautja–with the logic being if they can kill a Xenomorph, they can kill anything. However, there is one Predator clan that doesn’t abide by these ritualistic hunting practices as they don’t kill Xenomrphs, they train them.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY The idea of Alien versus Predator was first brought to the forefront of fans’ attention in the form of a 1989 comic book series before getting a video game adaptation in 1990. From there, the shared lore of the two universes continued to grow until Alien vs Predator finally became a live-action film–one that was popular enough to spawn a sequel.
The Xenomorph-Training Predators Aren’t Hunters, They’re Killers As Machiko Noguchi explains, killing Xenomorphs–or Bugs, as she calls them–is a coming-of-age rite of passage for a Yautja. It is an honorable tradition that teaches a Predator how to be the best hunter as they are forced to kill the deadliest prey for their first hunt. However, one clan of Predators didn’t care about the honor of the hunt as they were more interested in the thrill of the kill.
While Predators training Xenomorphs goes against the teachings of the Yautja species, it is certainly a brutal sight to behold–and one that also earns the Killers the top spot as the deadliest clan in the Aliens vs Predator universe.
