Big man Poy Erram is retiring from the Gilas Pilipinas national team.

Erram said he had always said yes to Gilas call-ups as he wanted to help the national team.

“I will never say no to my country. I will never get tired of playing for you ????????. Nangarap lang ako dati na magkaron ng kahit na practice jersey lang ng GILAS. But now I am part of GILAS history and all worth it.” Erram has been dealing with knee issues, which have hampered his availability to join Gilas' continuing preparations for the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup. He missed the team's recent campaign in a pocket tournament in China due to the injury.

The TNT big man donned the national colors during the Asian Qualifiers of the 2019 and 2023 editions of the FIBA World Cup, and the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup and its qualifiers.
