The ticket matched four numbers but not the Powerball and was one of 94 third-prize tickets sold nationally.
No one hit the $1.19 billion jackpot, but 10 second prize tickets worth at least $1 million were sold. One was bought in Flushing, Queens, according to the New York Lottery. In Pennsylvania, a $2 million and $1 million ticket were sold.Saturday’s jackpot will be worth an estimated $1.4 billion with a cash option of $643.7 million. If someone wins, it would be the third largest Powerball prize and the fifth largest in U.S. lottery history.
Wednesday’s drawing marked the 33rd in a row without a jackpot winner. The jackpot hasn’t been won since July 19 when a ticket buyer in Los Angelesare 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.
