Power was restored to Seguin, Texas, early Sunday morning, after an outage caused almost half of the city to lose electricity, according to the Seguin Police Department.

Hundreds of residences in Seguin were left without power for hours last night, after a raccoon made its way into a substation transformer. According to the Seguin Police Department, crews from Lower Colorado River Authority and the City of Seguin Electric Department were working during the night to clear the transformer and restore power.

As of 1:30 a.m., power was restored, announced the Seguin Police Department this morning on its Facebook page.One commenter reminded residents to slow or stop at all traffic lights, given their own close call on the road earlier in the evening. The SPD reported that its communications team was flooded with calls about the power outage.
