JasonMomoa ditched his beloved signature look to bring awareness to single-use plastic waste. We're listening!
's long, flowing hair. The actor just said goodbye to his signature long, beachy lengths and man bun styles by buzzing his hair on camera and sending a message about single-use plastics.of his major hair change to Instagram, even taking a moment to show off two shorn braids that had already been cut off. "[I'm] shaving off the hair, doing it for single-use plastics," the actor shares of the process.
According to Momoa, the hair change was in part to bring more awareness to the prevalence of single-use plastics. "It goes into our land, into our oceans. Please, anything you can do to eliminate single-use plastics in your lives ..." Momoa also mentions using a canteen or aluminum bottle in place of plastic; he's the founder of Mananalu Water, a bottled water line packaged in aluminum with a mission to "unplastic our planet.
While we absolutely already miss Momoa's trademark long surfer-cool hair, he can definitely pull off his new buzz cut. The length may be gone, but he kept his facial hair so the Momoa we know and love is still definitely present, and the shorter hair is probably a lot cooler for these hot late summer days.
