KUALA LUMPUR: With the World Health Organisation declaring a global pandemic, the Health Ministry has advised all mass gatherings be postponed to minimise the spread of Covid-19.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said those experiencing respiratory infection symptoms are advised not to attend programmes that involve crowded places, including religious activities.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba has assured Malaysians that the country is ready to face the Covid-19 pandemic.“I have also been informed that we have enough beds, wards, medical and security personnel at Hospital Sungai Buloh to handle 772 patients at any one time, ” he told a press conference after he visited the hospital yesterday.
