“Y’all made me a better father, a better husband, a better coach, everything,' Auburn interim coach Cadillac Williams said to his team Saturday. 'You have no idea what purpose you have given me. To see you guys respond. How you guys responded.'
There are moments in state and American history that need to be preserved and saved for the sake of future generations. For that reason, I have chosen here to publish the entire post-game speech by Auburn interim football coach Carnell “Cadillac” Williams after the football game on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022, between Auburn University and the University of Alabama.
“You guys have been a blessing to me, man. Such a blessing to me, man. Got the opportunity to be a part of you guys’ lives.“You ain’t going to win all the time in life, you’re not. But never count it as a loss, man. It’s a lesson. “So much going on right now. You guys have a lot of cool opportunities to do a lot of cool things in life. At the end of day, man, this thing is a brotherhood. We’re brothers. We’re family. If we’re going to use the words in our creed, and that’s our tradition, then let’s be about it. I know how it is to be two decades later and still have Auburn men in your life. Y’all heard from Reggie Torbor last night. You heard from a lot of cats.
“Man, this group has left Auburn better than they found it. I promise you that. We got something to model. This is it, fellas. This is it. It ain’t going to be the same. A lot of guys … we don’t know what’s going to happen. But I want you guys to stay down for each other because I do life with a lot of Auburn guys, man, and it’s powerful. It’s powerful, being connected. Invest in yourself. Invest in others. Treat people right. Little things matter, man.
“I just hate I couldn’t give you guys more, man. I do. I could have had you guys better prepared. I could’ve. But look, it ain’t no time to blame, it ain’t no time to point fingers. Give Coach Saban and them guys credit. Just stay down. And how are we going to respond? And I’m betting on if it’s anything like these last couple weeks, man, you gyus are OK. You guys are OK in life. It ain’t about what happens in life. It’s about how you respond.
“It has been a blessing. It has been a ride. We are now a part of history. Whether we like it or want to address it or not. But this game has been played since 1893, the first. The first to do it, for a lot of you guys, to look just like you. Bro, you can accomplish anything you want in life. Don’t be denied. Get in relationships. Don’t isolate yourself. There’s a playground, fellas. Don’t be selfish. Finish in life. Enjoy the process. It has been a ride. It has been a ride, man.

Scarbinsky: Trolled by Kiffin, rolled by Alabama: Auburn’s nightmare isn’t over yetWhen you’ve walked in the desert as long as Auburn football has, it’s easy to mistake a mirage for an oasis and dismiss an oasis as a mirage. This is the way the 2022 Auburn football season ended on the field Saturday in enemy territory as the program’s nightmare continued. Alabama 49, Auburn 27 was the least of the Tigers’ worries. Before and after kickoff, they learned some hard lessons in their search for a way out and a way up. Lane Kiffin ain’t coming, Nick Saban isn’t going away and the Tigers will be lucky if the best thing to happen to them in years, Carnell Williams, doesn’t look for an exit himself. The Tigers have gone five years without a trip to the SEC Championship Game, matching the program’s longest droughts from 1992-96 and from 2005-09.They just completed their second three-game losing streak in the Iron Bowl in the last nine years. When your rival extends its record of 10-win seasons to 15 straight years and keeps its thin playoff hopes alive, at your expense, another body of water enters the chat. Consider your next move carefully, Auburn, or that pending oasis may not be a mirage. Choose poorly, and it could be a real cesspool.
