While no one was hurt by the object, pictures provided by authorities show how the 4-inch-by-6-inch rock penetrated the roof and dented the home’s hardwood floor.
The landing came Monday in the state’s western town of Hopewell, according to the Hopewell Township Police Department.
Police said the rock may be related to the Eta Aquariids meteor shower, which peaked last week. Observers of the shower can see up to 50 meteors per hour in the sky.• Vaughn Cockayne can be reached at
