“We had our opportunities,” Porter coach Wayne Ralph said. “Bases loaded, no outs. Triple play. You’ve got to give it to them. They made the plays when they had to and got timely hitting. We just didn’t.” But the Dragons , who had lost five of six games coming into Tuesday, responded in the fourth with three runs. Drew Dora hit an RBI single with no outs and Austin Dearbone delivered a two-out two-run single.
Porter pitching, meanwhile, allowed eight hits, struck out five and walked one. Starter Austin Roper lasted 3 2/3 innings, surrendering all three runs on seven hits. Aaron Krueger was strong in relief.
