Porsche is reportedly preparing to unveil a new car on the 75th anniversary of the registration of its first ever vehicle car auto cars
is expected to be based on the GT3 trim, but is inspired by the car of the same name that was first sold in the 1970s.
The original car was a limited edition, race-focused model that featured lightweight materials and other modifications for the track. However, the modern car is expected to combine a manual transmission and retro design cues with the 911 GT3’s powerful powertrain. Spy photos of the new Porsche 911 ST have been circulating since 2022, indicating that the automaker is nearing completion of the model. While the car will compete in the hypercar class at Le Mans, Porsche’s 911 has been a mainstay in endurance racing for decades. With June 8 marking an important anniversary for the brand, it’s the perfect time to introduce a new motorsport-inspired retro version of the classic car.
