still be incentivized to use Genuine Parts, but will be celebrated for their creativity, and their ability to “fulfill a special wish” for a client.
“The response from the Porsche community and our participating dealerships for the past two years has been tremendous,” said Jonathan Sieber, the senior manager of Porsche Classic in North America. “It’s incredibly rewarding to watch a vehicle go through a well-documented, step-by-step restoration that the challenge expects, and the results certainly show.”Porsche says that 60 dealers will be competing in the restoration challenge this year, and will be able to select any model. Judging has now begun in the three regions—East, South-Central, and West—and a winner in each category will be selected.
The nine regional winners will then be presented at the Rennsport Reunion 7, the world’s largest Porsche fan gathering, which runs from September 28 to October 1 at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, in California this year. There, one winner will be chosen for each category, meaning that, for the first time ever, there will be three top trophies awarded at the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge. They will be selected by a panel of experts from Porsche Cars North America.
