The highly acclaimed restaurant will move to a new space.

"A few weeks ago, we decided today will be our last day in our Fruitvale location," read the post from chef-owner Nite Yun."Our lease is coming to an end after five years and we’ve quietly decided to move on from this space. We are grateful to everyone who has shared a meal with us here and allowed us to share Cambodian food and culture.

"Chef Yun is an alum of nonprofit kitchen incubator La Cocina, and began serving her food at the Emeryville Public Market before opening the official Nyum Bai brick-and-mortar on East 12th Street in 2017. The colorful restaurant inspired by the Cambodian food of Yun's childhood quickly grew in popularity, especially afterSFGATE could not reach Yun for comment at time of publication, but the closure announcement provided a hint at what is to come.
