Ravi Ashwin, already slammed for a 'disgraceful and low act' last IPL, had Aaron Finch gone. What happened next came down to Aussie icon Ricky Ponting.
"I know there's people that frown upon it, I know Ricky Ponting's knot in favour of it - I've got no problem with this from Ashwin. No problem at all.
"He's done it the right way, he's given a batsman a warning and just sort of said [stop] ... it's not he's taken the bails off and wants to hold on to that appeal," Slater said. "Look, he's a terrific bowler and he's done a great job in the IPL for a long period of time now. But I must admit watching that last season, as soon as it happened and he did that, I actually sat our boys down and said, 'Look, I know he's done it, there'll be others around the tournament who'll think about doing this as well but that's not going to be the way that we play our cricket. We won't be doing that'.
