John Fetterman leads Dr. Mehmet Oz in a new poll out Wednesday that also shows last week's U.S. Senate debate having 'minimal' impact among voters.
Wednesday that has Fetterman leading 48% to 44% when voters were asked if they “definitely” or “probably” were supporting a candidate. The poll, taken from Oct. 27 to 31, shows Fetterman’s much-discussed performance in the Oct. 25 debate having little effect on his support, which mirrored that in an early-October Monmouth poll and its September one .
Forty-six percent of voters said the debate did not raise serious concerns with them, while 26% said they did not see or hear anything about the debate. “The month-to-month shifts in support for Oz are not statistically significant. The overall trend suggests he has been chipping away with some voters who have not been completely comfortable with him, but that mainly happened prior to the debate,” said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, in a statement.
Fetterman suffered a stroke on May 13 and has acknowledged that he is experiencing auditory processing issues as he continues to recover, but he has said there are no cognitive problems. However, Fetterman’s favorable rating was 45% while Oz’s was just 31%. Shapiro’s favorable rating was 50% while Mastriano’s unfavorable rating was 55%, up from 48% in September.
