Of the 1087 likely general election voters, 45.4 percent said they would back Henry, while only 44.4 percent would reelect James. Another 10.2 percent are still undecided. The Trafalgar Group poll sampled likely general election voters from September 30 to October 3, with a 2.9 percent margin of error and a 95 percent confidence level.
The poll sampled more Democrats than Republicans and independents. There was 53.6 percent party participation in the survey from the 1,087 likely general election voters, only 27.5 percent from the Republicans, and 18.9 percent identified as “non-partisan” or “other.”
