Political killings and infighting will cost ANC in Gauteng elections, Mbalula warns supporters
While polls predict an ANC voter dip in next year's elections, secretary-general Fikile Mbalula says party infighting, which led to the recent attempted assassination of a regional leader, will guarantee the party's electoral loss.
On Saturday, Mbalula addressed an ANC comminiyt meeting in Kagiso, Mogale City Local Municipality. The ANC – with 31 of the council's 77 seats – governs the municipality with the EFF after no party received an outright majority during the 2021 local government elections. The party's regional secretary, Mkhuseli Jokazi, who is also the Rand West Municipality council chief whip, survived a hail of bullets in August – nearly three months after he was elected at a heated regional conference. Jokazi was attacked while leaving a community meeting he had addressed.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
