Crosby Textor Group has made allegations about Freshwater’s work for former UK leader Liz Truss, and it’s playing out in the NSW Supreme Court.

is embroiled in a legal battle with its ex-pollster Michael Turner and his new business, alleging data was stolen, including client proposals and financial, research and poll reports.

It is alleged Mr Turner did this on June 13, hours before giving written notice of his resignation. The statement of claim alleges the dataset included client proposals, voter polling reports, financial reports, terms of engagement and research and analysis reports. A CT Group spokeswoman said the company had taken legal action to protect the confidential information of its clients, the firm and its intellectual property.In July last year, a number of CT’s staff, including Mr Turner, left the group to set up Freshwater Strategy, focusing on public and government relations, as well as research, strategy and investment advisory.

“In performing the work or providing the services ... Mr Turner made unauthorised use or disclosure of confidential information and/or commercially sensitive information belonging to Crosby Textor,” the statement of claim alleges.
