Polis bersetuju dengan keputusan kerajaan menubuhkan sebuah suruhanjaya pemantau.
PUTRAJAYA: Selepas bertahun-tahun menentang seruan penubuhan sebuah badan pemantau, polis hari ini bersetuju dengan penubuhan Suruhanjaya Bebas Aduan dan Salah Laku Polis .
Perkembangan ini susulan mesyuarat terbaru antara wakil persatuan polis bersama Pusat Governans dan Antirasuah Nasional dan Kementerian Dalam Negeri. Ketua Pengarah GIACC, Abu Kassim Mohamed berkata mesyuarat hari ini dihadiri semua bahagian yang berkaitan dengan polis, termasuk persatuan-persatuannya.“Banyak perkara yang menjadi perhatian polis telah pun diterangkan bagaimana kebimbangan mereka diuruskan semasa kita akan membuat kertas Kabinet dan juga semasa merangka undang-undang tersebut yang akan dikemukakan kepada kerajaan nanti,” katanya kepada pemberita yang turut dihadiri Ketua Polis Negara, Abdul Hamid Bador.
Jemaah menteri pada September bersetuju dengan penubuhan IPCMC, langkah yang ditentang bekas ketua polis negara, Mohamad Fuzi Harun.
