KOTA KINABALU: Polio vaccination has resumed in Sabah and parents have been urged to bring their children for their dose.

Sabah Health Department director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi said the polio vaccination programme, which was postponed over the past two months due to Covid-19 and the movement control order , has now been restarted.

"It is important that all children regardless of nationality in Sabah get their complete immunisation up to age," she said."Our campaign previously involves providing children with four doses of vaccine - two doses of the bOPV and two doses of the mOPV ," Dr Rundi said.As of June 3, only 81.3% of the targeted groups have received their first dose of the bOPV while 50% have received their second dose of the bOPV.
