KOTA KINABALU: A policeman points his gun at a man attempting to escape a roadblock in Sabah’s east coast Taway District. Tawau police chief Asst Comm Jasmin Hussin has since confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred near a school at Jalan Utara at about 10.30am on Sunday .
He said the suspect, aged 35, who was later apprehended, had earlier tried to flee from a roadblock mounted by the district traffic policemen. “I confirm that a report was made by a Tawau traffic policeman over the incident yesterday ,” he said in a statement on Monday . “We have initiated an investigation under Section 186 of the Penal Code and Section 26 of the Police Act 1967 ,” he added.
