A mountain lion sighting in Daly City on Monday afternoon prompted police to warn residents near Westmoor Park neighborhood to stay indoors.
Laurie Golub made the discovery around 9 o'clock, when she and her dogs stepped into their backyard on Westmoor Avenue, and the dogs immediately began barking.
"As I approached the tree in our backyard, I noticed a very long bushy tail, so I went under the tree and I looked up, and there was a huge mountain lion looking down at me. I ran and screamed and I was able to get the dogs back inside, and slammed the door."The Golub's say they've seen coyotes in their neighborhood before, but never a mountain lion.
Of course, experts say it's not a great idea to run away from a mountain Lion -- it's best to make yourself as big as possible and back up slowly.Daly City Police Officers and Department of Fish and Wildlife are on scene in the area of Westmore Avenue and Baldwin Avenue.
