The Fourth District State Attorney’s Office on Thursday filed formal charges against 32-year-old Pamela Cabrera, who Jacksonville police said kidnapped her daughter, Vanity Cabrera, at knifepoint late last month, . When a police officer spotted her SUV at a red light, she sped away and led law enforcement on a high-speed chase., the chase lasted for about 30 miles, reaching speeds up to 90 miles per hour, before Cabrera crashed her vehicle into a retention pond along Interstate 95. The child's body was found by divers outside of the SUV at the bottom of the pond. Cabrera got out of the vehicle, but officials said she made no attempt to rescue her daughter.
