“If the protest holds, we will be there to protect the rights of everyone. We will ensure that there is no damage.” Dimgba said that the Igbo in Lagos State would not partake as protest is not part and parcel of the Igbo tribe. Wike, who made the declaration after a meeting of the FCT Security Council in Abuja, told residents not to join “armed robbers” for any protest.
The Igbo nation was thrown into mourning yesterday following the death of president of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
