BANGKOK: A teacher at a Bangkok school has been sentenced to 111 years and 216 months in jail by the Phitsanulok court in a case involving the grooming and sexual abuse of an underage boy, the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) announced on Monday (Dec 9).

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police said that in preparation for the floods during this northeast monsoon season, his team has conducted a series of meetings at various levels with other rescue agencies to ensure quick and efficient actions are always implemented for the public's safety. "We have completed numerous meetings concerning preparations at the Putrajaya, state and district levels," he told reporters at the Flood Victims' Aid Distribution Programme at the Kuala Jengai police station on Tuesday .
