A 28-year police officer is fighting for his life after he was run over and dragged almost 20 metres while making an arrest in Perth. 9News
Police said the constable had been trying to stop a stolen white sedan at Ascot at 1am when he suffered horrific internal injuries. His colleagues grabbed a nearby resident's carjack to lift the vehicle off the injured officer.
"We got the knock on the door from the officer frantically asking us for a carjack," witness Ellice Dudley said. It is understood the police officer of three years is in an induced coma with significant chest injuries.The cul-de-sac where the incident took place remains a crime scene. Blanch praised the 28-year-old's partner on duty who arrested the three and helped the officer "on a dark street at 1am in the morning".
