The High Court in Ipoh was informed today that the investigation report of the police case involving the alleged murder of student Muhammad Zaharif Affendi Muhd Zamrie has been taken over by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ipoh Police Headquarters from the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department. The report was initially opened on December 15, 2023, by Traffic Investigator Insp. Jong Pit Chao. However, on December 16, 2023, it was taken over by the CID Ipoh and controlled by ASP Chua Sze Chuan, upon orders from the Chief of the Ipoh Police. On December 18, 2023, following charges and further investigation orders from the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP), the report was taken over by ASP S. Dasarathan, upon orders from the Deputy Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), assisted by both initial investigators, Insp. Jong and ASP Chua.
: Mahkamah Tinggi di sini hari ini diberitahu bahawa kertas siasatan kes polis didakwa membunuh pelajar Muhammad Zaharif Affendi Muhd Zamrie telah diambil alih pihak Bahagian Siasatan Jenayah Daerah Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah Ipoh daripada Bahagian Siasatan dan Penguatkuasaan Trafik IPD Ipoh.
“Selain itu juga saya telah mewujudkan pasukan petugas untuk memastikan penyiasatan dilengkapkan dan dikemas kini. Saya sendiri turut mengambil peranan di dalam membantu tugasan pegawai penyiasat,” katanya ketika membaca pernyataan saksinya di hadapan Hakim Datuk Bhupindar Singh Gucharan Singh Preet pada hari ke-14 perbicaraan kes itu.
Saksi itu berkata rampasan tersebut dibuat kerana pakaian berkenaan adalah yang diguna dan dipakai oleh tertuduh semasa kejadian. Sementara itu, ketika pemeriksaan balas oleh peguam Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid, DSP Mohd Zulkefli bersetuju bahawa tertuduh ditahan pada 15 Dis 2023.DSP Mohd Zulkefli: Saya tidak dapat menjawab soalan tersebut Yang Arif kerana pada peringkat awal, siasatan dijalankan oleh pihak trafik.
