In South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur, Mayor Reynalbert Insular said he has already directed the municipal police office to work with the Army’s 57th Infantry Battalion in hunting down the ambushers of Robis Batitao, a job order worker of the municipal government assigned in road construction works.At about 10 a.m. at Barangay Pandan, South Upi, unidentified gunmen ambushed Batitao on his motorcycle. He died instantly.At about 3 p.m.
The ambush happened along the national highway in Barangay Bulit, Datu Montawal town, where police found empty shells for .45-caliber pistol. Capt. Nurjhasier Sali, Datu Montawal police chief, said no one had claimed responsibility for the attack, although probers were looking at “rido” or family feud as one of the possible motives.
