GEORGE TOWN: The police say they have CCTV footage of the North Seberang Prai police headquarters lockup which shows that a 29-year-old detainee's death was a suicide.
Penang police chief Comm Datuk T. Narenasagaran said the footage showed that the detainee had hanged himself using his lock-up shirt tied into a noose.
Comm Narenasegaran said the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission had investigated the incident and the police had given full cooperation. He added that if the deceased's family members wanted to see the CCTV footage, the police would arrange it.
