Police: Customer shoots, kills man who tried to rob taqueria in southwest Houston
Police were searching for a customer accused of shooting, killing attempted robber at taqueria in southwest Houston.A man who had tried to rob a taqueria was killed late Thursday when a customer opened fire on him in southwest Houston, officials said.
Just before 11:30 p.m., a man walked into a restaurant near the intersection of South Gessner Road and Bellaire Boulevard wearing a mask and gloves, Lt. Ronnie Willkens, of the Houston Police Department, told On Scene reporters.The man then pointed what investigators later determined was a plastic gun at customers and employees, demanding money, Willkens said. The man then walked toward the front door, when a customer pulled out a gun and shot him multiple times.
Investigators Friday were looking for the man and asked anyone with information to call the department's homicide division at 713-308-3600. People who were at the restaurant were also asked to call police to provide statements.
