The three suspects were arrested in Villa Liza.

The Dawn Park police, in partnership with the crime prevention wardens, arrested three suspects in Villa Liza on September 5 with two illegal firearms suspected to be used in robberies and muggings.

According to the Dawn Park SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Nkemeleng Mabula, the Dawn Park police along with wardens were tipped off about three suspects by community members. “The police followed the leads and found the suspects at a property in Villa Liza. They attempted to flee but were arrested. Police searched the property and recovered two illegal firearms and items suspected to be stolen,” explained Mabula.

She added that the suspects were interrogated at the Dawn Park police station and their confession led the police to a location where they had sold other suspected stolen items. “Police visited the address and found the suspected stolen items and arrested the two suspects on the property,” stated Mabula.
