Taguig police arrested a man on July 28 after he was found in possession of a gun, ammunition, and hand grenade.
The suspect, Datumama Kasim, 38, was nabbed by members of the Taguig Police Station Intelligence Section at about 6:15 p.m. on A. Reyes Street in Purok 3, Barangay New Lower Bicutan.According to the police, authorities acted on a tip received from a barangay information network agent about a man carrying a firearm.The suspect failed to present documents for the firearm, prompting the police to arrest him.
During the arrest and search, the police confiscated a .45-caliber pistol with serial number 519362 loaded with one live ammunition, one magazine loaded with three pieces of live ammunition and a hand grenade found in a black bag.Charges will be filed against the suspect who is detained at the station custodial facility of the Taguig City Police Station.
