The Philippine National Railways (PNR) line connecting Metro Manila and Laguna will be shut down starting Sunday, July 16, to make way for the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) project.

“Gusto ko pong humingi ng kaunting paumanhin sa ating riding public. But for now, we have available buses from Alabang to Calamba, Laguna. Kailangan lang pong magstart ng construction nito pong Alabang to Calamba, Laguna,” said PNR Chairman Michael Ted Macapagal in Jonathan Andal’s Saturday “24 Oras Weekend” report.

In June 2023, the PNR announced that daily trips on the Alabang to Calamba route would cease starting July 2 due to the NSCR construction.
