The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday said it will implement the possible recommendations of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) after its review on the courtesy resignations of senior officers.
At a public briefing, PNP public information office chief Police Colonel Redrico Maranan said the NAPOLCOM will announce the result of their investigation in the coming days.
“Ang PNP po bilang ahensya sa ilalim ng NAPOLCOM ay tatalima sa mga recommendation at ipapatupad po natin kung ano ang mga findings at recommendation ng NAPOLCOM,” he said. On Wednesday, former PNP chief retired Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said the advisory group recommended accepting the resignations of four senior police officials over their supposed involvement in theNAPOLCOM chairperson Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos said they will announce “everything” in two days.
On January 4, Abalos appealed to senior PNP officials to submit their courtesy resignations as part of the government's efforts to rid the police force of officers with links to narcotics syndicates.Their recommendations were forwarded to the NAPOLCOM for another review. The report will be submitted to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. for approval.
