PM says authorities must study Bukit Malut settler issue before acting

STUDIES must be carried out before any transfer of foreign nationals illegally occupying the Bukit Malut area, Langkawi, can begin because the taxpayer would have to foot the bill, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has said. Langkawi MP Dr Mahathir said it was not a simple matter because it involved the resettlement of foreign nationals, thus we have to take into account the sensitivity of the local residents.
