“Thanks Allah and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, I will release a statement soon,” the Pagoh MP said on arrival at his residence at 12.15pm. The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president waved to his supporters and members of media before entering his home and performed a doa kesyukuran. Muhyiddin took his oath of office as the 8th Prime Minister at Istana Negara this morning. The swearing-in took place at Balai Singgahsana Kecil at 10.33am.
Al-Sultan Abdullah appointed Muhyiddin as the new Prime Minister in accordance with Articles 40 and 43 of the Federal Constitution.
