Theresa May infuriates DUP after blaming paralysis in Northern Ireland for Brexit delay
Nigel Dodds blasted Theresa May after she suggested the Government had to ask for an extension due to Northern Ireland being unprepared for a No DealTHERESA MAY incensed her DUP partners by suggesting the paralysis in Northern Ireland was part of the reason for delaying Brexit.
Standing up in the Commons he stormed: “The PM has known for some considerable time that the 29th of March was the target date, so why hasn’t the appropriate preparation been made? “This is a fundamental lack of preparation and the government is entirely responsible for that. This is a new argument, this is an entirely new argument we are hearing for the first time why we need an extension.”fury at the lack of any concessions in the PM’s proposed Brexit deal regarding Northern Ireland and the ‘backstop’ despite a series of high level meetings.
