The case is the latest in a series of high-profile tax disputes involving popular South Korean entertainers, including Cha Eun-woo of K-pop boy band Astro and actor Kim Seon-ho.
KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has brushed aside concerns over a string of looming elections, saying that his focus remains on governing the country and delivering results to the people.
"Why... do I look worried? I am just focusing on my job. The problem is some people do not think about these things.
"They should be focusing on their jobs," he told reporters at the Energy Transition Conference 2026 here on Thursday . Anwar was asked if he was worried about the upcoming elections and if they had distracted him.
"We have our own priorities. We focus on our work," he added. The Johor Legislative Assembly was dissolved on Monday , paving the way for the 16th state polls. Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced the dissolution of the state assembly after receiving the consent of the Johor Regent.
The state election must be held within 60 days from the effective date of the dissolution. Talk of snap polls in Negri Sembilan has also gained significant traction following the latest developments in the state and the dissolution of the Johor state assembly. Political analysts expect Melaka to follow suit soon and suggest the 16th General Election would be imminent after that.
