KUALA LUMPUR: Civil servants Grade 56 and below will be given RM300 in special cash aid, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced. Anwar, who is also finance minister, also announced a special RM200 in aid for government pensioners, including army veterans with or without pensions. “This special aid will benefit 1.3 million civil servants, including contract appointments, as well as more than a million pensioners,” he said.
He said these were temporary measures as Putrajaya works on studying adjustments to civil servants’ salaries, which he vowed would be implemented in two weeks.
