Works on the extra lane upgrade of the PLUS Kulai to Sedenak stretch on the North South Highway will be temporarily halted for 12 days from January 23rd to February 3rd to facilitate smoother traffic flow during the Chinese New Year and school holiday period. The project, valued at RM525 million, is progressing smoothly with a completion target of January 2028.

The extra lane upgrade works on the PLUS Kulai to Sedenak stretch will be temporarily stopped for the Chinese New Year and school holiday period to smoothen traffic flow on the North South Highway, works minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi announced.

The pause on works will be for 12 days, from January 23 till February 3. The minister said that as of December 31, 2024, the PLUS Kulai to Sedenak extra lane project’s progress is at 5.02%, and the rest of the works there that started in July last year are progressing smoothly. The extra lane will make it three lanes on each bound, one more than the current two lanes each. Phase 1 will cover a distance of 22 km from Sedenak to Senai Utara. The RM525 million project is split into two packages – Sedenak to Kulai, and Kulai to Senai Utara – and is expected to be completed by January 2028.Danny Tan loves driving as much as he loves a certain herbal meat soup, and sweet engine music as much as drum beats.
