ALOR SETAR: The bodies of three family members who were feared drowned after the car they were travelling in plunged into a river at Syed Omar Bridge, near Jalan Sungai Petani-Baling on Saturday (June 25) have been found.
Baling OCPD Supt Shamsudin Mamat said the three were identified as religious teacher Mashitoh Ibrahim, 37, and her two sons Mohd Ziyad Zikri Sharudin, 7, and Mohd Ziyad Haziq, 5."Investigation found that the accident occurred at about 6.30pm, and the car driven by the victim were heading towards Sungai Petani from Kuala Ketil when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle at the bridge, skidded and plunged into Sungai Muda," he said in a statement on Sunday .
Supt Shamsudin said all of the victims were found trapped in the car underneath the river, adding that the remains were sent to Kulim Hospital for postmortem.He said the car wreckage was sent to Baling police headquarters for further investigation.
