CONTINGENCY plans are in place to lessen the anticipated effect of the three-day transport strike that will start on July 24, coinciding with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s second State of the Nation Address (SONA). READ HERE:

At the meeting of various government agencies comprising the Inter-Agency Task Force Monitoring Team , concerned officials discussed plans to mitigate the impact of the transport holiday to ensure commuter convenience and security. Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Hubert Guevarra, MMDA Acting Chairman Romando 'Don' Artes, and MMDA General Manager Procopio Lipana led the meeting.

Zona Russet Tamayo, regional director of the Land Transport Franchising and Regulatory Board for the National Capital Region, said his office will coordinate with the transport groups that will not join the strike.On the other hand, the Philippine National Police-National Capital Region Police Office will deploy reaction teams that will be prepositioned in strategic areas to respond to incidents of harassment.
