Kurup, who passed away at the age of 79 on Wednesday, was initially scheduled to be flown back to Sabah via a commercial flight at 9:15am.According to an earlier announcement, Kurup's remains were to be transported directly from the airport to Fook Lu Siew Coffin Supplies Sdn Bhd in Kota Kinabalu for final rites, with an estimated arrival time of 12pm.
