An L.A. city council committee denies effort by neighbors to stop a school on Plummer Street in San Fernando Valley.
, Valor Academy Elementary School emerged from a Tuesday afternoon Los Angeles City Council Planning and Land Use Committee meeting one step closer to victory.
Valor Academy Elementary School Principal May Oey said she was thrilled by the committee’s decision to deny the appeals and support their project. “The elementary school project has been expedited to the detriment of a thorough evaluation of the site and acceptable mitigation efforts for the health and safety of students, staff, and residents,” wrote Johnson. He called for a full Environmental Impact Report.
Since opening in 2016 the school has bounced around three different locations and hopes to make the new site at 15526 and 15544 West Plummer Street its permanent home.
