An aircraft carrying nine people overshot a runway in Palanan Airport in Isabela on Wednesday morning, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.

In a statement, the CAAP said all nine passengers were safely disembarked and attended to, and post-incident protocols were conducted.

The CAAP said the plane — a Piper PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain aircraft operated by Cyclone Airways and with call sign RP-C 8262 — experienced a runway excursion at around 10:13 a.m.Normal operations returned in Palanan Airport at 11:23 a.m. after the incident, according to the CAAP. Investigators from the Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board were deployed to the area to assess the situation and supervise the extraction of the disabled aircraft.

The CAAP said it is working with the air operator for the investigation and resolution of the incident.
