State-owned POIC Sabah Sdn Bhd is looking into the possibility of setting up a centre in Lahad Datu similar to the Kota Kinabalu Wetlands.
“The facility is more like a gallery and exhibition centre to show the public on the importance of wetlands conservation, especially mangroves,” said POIC Sabah Sdn Bhd Chairman Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee. “The Lahad Datu District Office is coordinating the setting up of the centre with POIC Sabah,” he said in his address as guest of honour at the World Wetlands Day 2023, organised by the Sabah Wetlands Conservation Society , at the Kota Kinabalu Wetlands Ramsar site, here, Saturday.
