Plainfield CC to host three USGA events in Edison over next 15 years

The USGA is returning to Plainfield Country Club for the first time in nearly four decades to host three events over the next 15 years.

The USGA is returning to a classic New Jersey golf course for the first time in nearly four decades to host three events over the next 15 years.

The current 18-hole course at Plainfield opened in 1921 and was designed by legendary architect Donald Ross. It has long been regarded as one of the best in New Jersey and one of the top 100 courses in the country. It has previously hosted several big events, including most recently the first leg of the PGA Tour’s playoffs: Dustin Johnson won there in 2011 and Jason Day won the most recent event played there in 2015.

The 2025 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball will be the first USGA event in New Jersey since last year, when Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus hosted the U.S. Amateur . Ridgewood also hosted the last U.S. Senior Open hosted in the Garden State: Lee Trevino edged Jack Nicklaus by two shots back in 1990.
