PETALING JAYA: PKR will reshuffle the leadership of its state chapters while keeping an eye on developments in Sabah amid calls for the resignation of its Sabah chief, Sangkar Rasam.
PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said party president Anwar Ibrahim had already decided on the changes to be made in the Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Penang, Negeri Sembilan and Selangor chapters.“I think the issue in Sabah PKR is under control. The party president is in the process of reshuffling the state leaderships,” he told reporters after an event here.

The Borneo Post reported that Anwar is expected to decide between retaining Sangkar as Sabah PKR chief or opting for deputy higher education minister Mustapha Sakmud, who has offered to lead the party’s campaign in the next state election.On March 17, Kota Marudu PKR division chief Sazalye Donol said 15 out of 26 Sabah division chiefs had called for Sangkar to step down as state chairman, walking out of a state leadership meeting after expressing their unhappiness with his leadership.
