SHAH ALAM: The PKR Special National Congress this time is different from the party's previous congresses, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
The PKR secretary-general added the party had faced many trials, challenges and was also betrayed in the past.
But the difficult times had ended on a sweet note, not only with a second chance to helm Putrajaya but also with party president Anwar Ibrahim as the 10th prime minister, he added. "Certainly the trials and challenges may never end, but with all that the party has gone through over the past 25 years, PKR definitely possesses maturity in facing the battle," Saifuddin added in his speech at the Congress.
According to Saifuddin, PKR was lucky to have a leader who loyally strove to propagate reformation until it made its way to towns, villages and interior areas as well as received support from activists and people of all ages and ethnicities.Saifuddin, who is Home Minister in Anwar's administration, said a big responsibility to the nation and its people lay ahead and called for party members to continue strengthening the PKR.
