Parti Keadilan Rakyat ( PKR ) Sabah chairman Datuk Ts Mustapha Sakmud has affirmed the party's confidence in retaining both the Api-Api and Inanam seats in the upcoming state elections . He stated that while discussions regarding the seats Pakatan Harapan (PH) will contest and electoral cooperation are ongoing, the Api-Api seat is a certainty. Mustapha clarified that discussions surrounding the candidacy for Api-Api , including incumbent Datuk Seri Christina Liew, are still in progress.

He dismissed speculation of Liew's potential exclusion, attributing her absence from the event to other commitments. \\\Mustapha also revealed that negotiations for seat distribution with Barisan Nasional (BN) are currently underway, with talks with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) expected to commence after the BN discussions conclude. He addressed speculation regarding the potential entry of Sabah's Governor's son into PKR, stating that the party is monitoring the situation. \\\Meanwhile, PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar, who graced the launch of the PKR Api-Api main operations room and election machinery, commented on the late Zara Qairina Mahathir case. She expressed empathy for the deceased's family and stated that the government is actively addressing Sabah's call for a safer environment, both within schools and workplaces. Nurul Izzah emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to ensure nationwide child safety. PH component party leaders from Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) and Democratic Action Party (DAP) were also present
