PETALING JAYA: Two men have been detained for robbing a convenience store in Taman Maju Jaya here.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said police were informed that two men had escaped with cash and 49 boxes of cigarettes after robbing the convenience store at 5.28am on Saturday .

"We managed to track down the two suspects at Kampung Lindungan and detained them at 3.30pm the same day."They have been remanded until Thursday for further investigation," he said in a statement on Tuesday .ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin urged those with information on any criminal activity to contact the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters at 03-79662222 or the nearest police station.
